1930 Avon Alvis Sports Special
« on: 25 January 2021, 04:45:38 pm »
Hi all,
Third time lucky???
I am about to start a new build of a 1930 Avon Alvis Sports Special, one currently on eBay(3035044192833) as I believe this will be able to be scaled to create a CycleKarts.
Standard steel cahssis and space frame with alloy skin
Now will try to post???
regards Billy

Hi all,
It worked so I will expand on info etc.
Found the Avon Alvis on eBay and it looks do-able with a little scale modification here and there, at least it is long enough for my legs. To date I've constructed three Reverse trikes that are all on the road, powered by 2CV and Moto Guzzi engines, also restored a Bond Bug, all trikes are 95% complete with only 65% to do...ie work in progress.
I am based in south Scotland and would like any info regards runs and circuits that are in the north as it's a long way down to the current venues, also any road events as it is possible to achieve road legal to expand our adventures.
Looking forward to comment etc as build commences and hopefully I'll master the photographs.
regards Billy

Hi all,
oops, the eBay number is 303504192833.the problem with attaching may be the file that I have recorded from the advert.
Will try again with a photograph of my screen.
regards Billy

Sounds great, as do your other cars.   If you download the photos from eBay and load them here, they'll last longer.   Ask if you need help with that - there's also some pointers here http://www.cyclekartsgb.com/announcements/how-to-add-images-to-a-post/

Have a look at Geoff's Wolseley Hornet build (http://www.cyclekartsgb.com/build-journals/wolseley-hornet-cyclekart/) for info about going road legal.  The National Microcar event might also be of interest (Steve/Geoff can add more)

There's enough people building in Scotland now for a Scottish event I'd imagine.

Looking forward to following your build.

Jim,
That's the car, you must be more savvy with how to post a picture.
I've taken some snaps of my computer and will try and post some more.

Here's some of the photos from eBay.   Interesting details that should make for a distinctive CK.
