I'm already practicing the song by the Beastie Boys "No sleep till Brooklands" to sing on Sat morning and annoy my Dad all the way there. I will probably get some breakfast on the way, the cafe there doesn't open till 10.

With just a few days to go I would like to know how we will get into the circuit. Are they expecting us? Do we have to pay anything?
I really would like to know. I've spent a bit on period clothing and hotels and the Renault to.
I really think we should have a clear idea now please.

Goodness Adrian, I really am rather poor at organising these things.

Please bring your cyclekart to the Campbell Gate (Members Hill, Brooklands Rd, Weybridge KT13 0QU) and you'll be directed where to go at the gate.
Arrival times have not yet been confirmed by the museum, so please assume the times are still:
"We'll need to arrive on site about 7:45 to get checked in, unload and clear away trailers/cars/vans by 9:30 when the first punters might start sneaking in.  The official start time is 10am.   There is a Tescos a couple of minutes away with lots of parking and a cafe for anyone who needs it."

Please bring a helmet.  I'm not expecting to have to wear them, but the Museum has not confirmed either way.
We will be scrutineering.
There will be some workshop facilities should anyone need.
The weather forecast is mixed at the moment so remember to bring something to cover your CK if it needs it.

There is no fee for the cyclekart and a driver, although I'm sure the Museum would be very grateful if people chose to join up as members.
Other guests will have to pay (pre-book tickets online).

Details of the day are here:  https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on/brooklands-relived

Can you please check that postcode Stefan? It shows on my maps as nowhere near the circuit, the wrong side of the Wey!

Put the full address into Google Maps and it will get you to the right place  (these coordinates if you prefer 51.35339466812434, -0.46123214339271545).

Alternatively, try the What3words location  https://w3w.co/cracks.hulk.deep

Personally I love the friendly attitude of the people in the club and the fun we have at the various meets we go to. Glad you're still going Adrian, I look forward to catching up with you.

Hi Adrian. Both Stefan and I are moderating this afternoon. It's just to keep the post focussed. Everybody will be delighted to catch up with you on Saturday. I understand from you that Rhys is now not intending to join us and of course that's his perogative. All are looking forward to a fun day. Thanks.

Me too Graham. I intend to have a great day out with all our friends, old and new.
I hope we are having a get together so we can all meet and put faces (and names?) to names.
The Singer Owners Club is there too so a double whammy for me!

By the way chaps, what are we wearing?
I have some brown lace-up boots, some puttys, some pale coloured trousers, an old fashioned styled (but new) leather jacket, a cream linnen shirt and a leathert crash helmet (a proper one Stefan) and some goggles, I think thats what Ferenc was wearing on the day in 1906 (1927 had not been invented then).

That's a very descriptive list of your Apparel Adrian. Really cool like yourself and  It sounds like the perfect vintage "Man from C&A" look. I'm going as Elvis.

Unless Elvis was a Time traveller, Would that not have been Elvis's Dad  ;D Jim .

Tricky to know what vintage gear wear as some of the time we may be in our cars with overalls on ......Period overalls of course  8).

Could you drive in those boots Adrian ?

White overalls with CKGB Badges for me, long socks tucking in at the bottom of the legs and a dark cotton shirt with a belt around the overalls to keep all the pork pies in!

Actually, I have a choice of jackets because one photo of Ferenc Szisz suggests he was wearing a three buttoned Harris Tweed jacket. I got one off Ebay and it's just the job but I dont think it would look right in August. Bit like Elvis in a blazer.
Jim, you'll like him, he wears a  cap just like yours.

The museum issued participants information today, so I can confirm arrangements are pretty much as described before.

We will be able to get in from 7am and there will be a gazebo set up for us.   You will enter via the Campbell gate (location described above), drive down a hill and we'll be on the left as you come off the bottom of the hill - please follow this stewards directions.

Once unloaded we will be parking our cars/vans/trailers somewhere out of the way on site and will be directed where exactly on the day.
Main gates will open from 9:30 so we need to be unloaded and cars away by then.   If you get there early, please help others to unload etc.

The approx times of briefings and activities will be available on the day.

There is a cafe on site and normally some outdoor catering too.

Helmets not required but you are free to wear them.
Googles or some sort of eye protection encouraged.

There's a competition for best period costumes.

The day finishes at 5pm after which time we'll be able to start retrieving cars and loading up.

One last thing, the museum has asked that all visitors wear a face mask when in any of the buildings out of courtesy to other visitors.  Thanks
