Would love to go along - count me in!!!

Would be great to take my Dad's M type alongside Grahams as his car has raced at Brooklands, I will try and find the photos we have and post them up if anyone is interested?

Yes please I’d also like to know load in times as well…I’ve still got to get a ticket for Mrs synthpunk, I need to know what timed entry I need to get for her and the mini me. Ive started working on the back end of the Riley, and trying to work out how small a van I need to rent. If I take the engine out and don’t fit the tail cone shes exactly 8 foot 2 inches, so maybe a VW transporter type little one rather than a transit. Hopefully….

Cheers!
Rich

I've got a bit more information about the Brooklands Relived event.

We'll need to arrive on site about 7:45 to get checked in, unload and clear away trailers/cars/vans by 9:30 when the first punters might start sneaking in.  The official start time is 10am.   There is a Tescos a couple of minutes away with lots of parking and cafe for anyone who needs it.

Fuller "joining instructions" such as which entrance to use will follow as soon as I've got them.

URGENT
Keith, the commentator for the day, has asked for some background information.  I'll provide him general information about cyclekarts, but please could you send no more than a single side of A4 with:
a photo of your cyclekart
a little information about your inspiration car(s)
why you chose the number (if relevant)
and anecdotes that might make the commentary more interesting (eg Geoff's being road legal)

Please could you email them to me by Fri 23rd July so I can pull them together and send them on to Keith.   Thanks

Apologies for causing heart failure about the early start.  For those travelling further, I believe there is some latitude in the arrival time.   The event starts at 10am but visitors might be in earlier.   So we need to be set up and cars/trailers cleared by about 9:15/9:30 (still waiting on formal confirmation).

Oh dear… I’m afraid that rules me out as far as turning up with a kart. I won’t be able to pick up a van, get home, load the kart, wife and child and get to brooklands by then.. I’d have to do a weekend rent otherwise which puts the costs up considerably.

Ive chatted it over with Mrs S and we’re going to come down with the tiny and say hi and have a wander about… we’ve been literally nowhere and done nothing this year so we’re well up for a day out, even if daddy doesn’t get to show off his little wooden car.. it’ll be nice to see everyone, plus also Concorde. ;c)

As an added benefit it means I dont have to rush for the sake of rushing to finish the kart any time soon. Sticking all them fake louvres (that I still need to make) on the (as yet unfinished) bonnet is gonna take ages…

Also-

I’d talked myself out of the idea of buying and then modifying a trailer of some sort for future events but i think I’m about to change my mind. My Citroen’s got a tow attachment after all.
Cheers, see y’all on the 7th

Rich I adapted a motorbike trailer with some mobility scooter ramps bolted to it for the kart to sit on. It was very easy and cost nothing so adapting a trailer could be something to think about. Shame you can't bring the kart, I was looking forward to seeing your wooden wonder.

Rich, have you asked the hire company if you can collect Friday evening and return it Saturday afternoon? Some are helpful, some not.
I asked today, I can collect Friday after 4.30, return Sunday am for a one day hire. Long wheelbase Sprinter (2 cars) £80

Details are starting to firm up for the 7th.

Driving is likely to include:  a short sprint up the start/finish straight, an attempt at Test Hill (353 feet, 1:8, 1:5, 1:4) and possibly some parade laps in front of the throng.

So, if you're doing any prep to your CK, ditch the sandbags and dig out your big ratios ;)  !

I'm optimistic that we'll receive some official timings and info in the next day or so.
