Suggestion for another meet up.
« on: 07 April 2019, 12:04:40 pm »
Just floating an idea for a possible September meet up. I intend to go to Loton Park VSCC Hillclimb, 7th & 8th of September, perhaps we can get together as a group there. I'd be happy to contact the VSCC to find out if we could have some display space.

Something we can discuss at Stretton perhaps. Info on the event here: https://vsccspeed.co.uk/loton.

Are you thinking static display of CK's or were you hoping we might get a run at the hill climb, even if it's only a demo run?

Thinking static display of CK's but hoping we might get a run at the hill climb, even if it's only a demo run! Something to discuss with them if there's sufficient interest, you never know they might insist on us running up the hill in return for our display space.

Just gauging interest at the moment Graham, I'll be going anyway as a visitor, thought there was a possibility of killing two birds with one stone.

Very much like the Loton park hillclimb as a meeting venue. Might have a rolling chassis by then.

I’m a possible for Sept.   I would be keen to drive rather than just display.

I'm always more keen to drive rather than just display. However I wonder if we might get more opportunities for driving if people get to see what we have. If we gathered only one person who has access (or owns) a property where we can drive, the displays would be worthwhile.
FWIW every potential venue , bar one, has agreed to let us have a play when I have asked. I am very careful to NOT say we want to race, just that a group of 4 or 5 would like to have a play. I believe mentioning that we want to race, which we actually are unlikely to ever do in reality, rings alarm bells.

I'll get in touch with the VSCC as soon as their website is back up, I'll try for display space, but obviously if we can do demo runs up the hill all the better.

As I haven't had a reply in over a month, and with Stretton the previous weekend, I'm inclined to let things lie regarding Loton Park. Unless the rest of you want me to try a follow up message.

I'll be going as a spectator anyway, so we could still meet up, even without displaying the karts.
