What ever we do in planning dates forward it will always clash with something that somebody else has planned. We canít  work round motoracing events for the few that might get to them.

Hi Richie, good to have you join us.
As the guys have said, itís all about having fun
I really enjoyed the challenge of building my Cyclekart and keep tinkering to make it better
Our days we meet up are a blast. Great cheap fun. Stretton circuit is sort of mid country and a 2 - 3 hrs journey for most of us
Try and get along to our next meet and you will come way inspired

Events / National Micro Car Rally 2020
« on: 12 September 2019, 07:19:32 pm »
Evening chaps. Last weekend was the National Micro Car Rally. Mostly bubblecars
( Iíve owned two Messerschmitts, a Heinkel and an Isetta. Iím just about to buy an unrestored 1960 Trojan)
Geoff went with his MG. this years rally was in Somerset. It moves to a different part of the country each year. Next years location is yet to be announced.
I contacted this years organiser he said
ď I saw Geoff's car and it's amazing, a real work of art. I only organised the show for this year, next year it will be somewhere else, but I am absolutely sure the organisers would be delighted to have you there! Keep an eye on the Fb page for the National MicroCar Rally as the next event will be announced thereĒ
Whilst we wouldnít be able to go on the road for the annual run we would be able to drive round the field and maybe put on a small display. We could camp and be part of a big group. It would also raise the profile our group to other small car enthusiasts

I did not know anything about nord lock washers. Not sure how much better they are than a standard spring washer.
I think a combination of these, spring washers and Locknut/ nail varnish is probably the way to go.
I wasnít aware that nylocks are only intended for single use 😳

I had my rear axle move a bit, this caused the chain wheel to be out of allinment so chain came off ..twice. Investigated more thouraghly to find why axle had moved and found bolts had undone. On the end of my axle Iíd drilled and tapped so I could thread on a 6 mm bolt with a big washer to stop wheels coming off. I found on on side this was off so a potential for wheel to come off
Not very proud of this.
Not sure how reliable locktite or spring washers are

Tech Forum / Re: A new engine. A new debate.

This is all really interesting.
I remember sound advice about chucking away the stock carb and replacing it with something half decent like a one of those Chinese Mikuniís . Seemed good idea for all the right reasons like changeable jets, easier to fit a throttle cable etc etc. Then we went onto removing the governor to let the engine run better at higher revs
Now we are talking about going back to stock. WHY ???

Looks a good build. If itís only 10 hp Why should that be a problem ?
The pic on their website shows it with a carb.
If it is fuel injected where does the throttle cable go ?

And itís a nice blue and itís all shiny :o .... whatís not to like

Where to get stuff / Re: Torque Convertor

Mine is a cheap Chinese copy off eBay .. ref AC-ZJZYQ-1085 cost £43 it shed the belt on my last lap at Stretton in July Itís ran the May meet as well. Iíve got spare belts. Iíve had no probs so far
The Comet one seems to be about £160 so I could buy four of mine for the same price. Not sure if any of the parts are interchangeable.
Iím tempted to buy another one as a spare if I need it.
