Salutations friends
I'm Mad Vlad, altho my real name is Yannick Verley
I currently live in Belgium, in Watervliet, tho I'm looking into moving countries so I can be with my partner.
I've only recently discovered Cyclekarting but from the things I've seen and heard it's something right up my alley.
I hope to find more people in my current country who love this hobby as well, but for the moment I'm just happy to learn as much as I can.
Currently I got my eyes on building a Fiat Mephistopheles or a Beast of Turin, since those cards intrigue me a lot.
Anyways, pleasure meeting you all and I hope to make many new friends here.

Your choice of inspiration cars is excellent, these are two of the most wonderful cars of a great era in motorsport. I have a 1906 GP Renault Cyclekart which I finished last year. You may have seen it already on one of Mareks Videos.
Late last year I started my second Cyclekart and it is based on the Beast of Turin. If you join in the Builders meeting on Wednesday I will be bringing the group up to speed on progress.
I have lots of information and drawings on the Beast and you are most welcome to any of them. All are electronic so I can email them to you.
It would be great to see the beast chasing some of Portugal's Roosters around!
The Love of Life I think?

I'd love to see your beautiful kart someday, I love 1900's to 1930's racers
And thanks for offering the drawings of the beast to me, I'd love to see them when I have a chance. I was thinking of painting mine a different colour and naming it 'The Monster of Watervliet' to the town I grew up in.

As for Mephistopheles, I need to figure out where to put the engine, as in pictures of that car, they're sitting on the rear axle, and if I place the engine behind that, I fear she'll do a flip if I try to accelerate. so I was thinking of putting the engine on the front, tho then I need to figure out where the steering goes as I have nothing of experience yet in kart building

And Yeah, I'd call it the Love of Life too, it would be lovely seeing Mephistopholes race through the farm roads.

If you do Mephistopheles you will have no problem getting the engine in the back. Its tight in the Beast as well but it will fit.
I have the Italeri 1/12th scale kit of the car and I keep thinking I'll build it but as the Land Speed Record car that ran on a nice tree lined road in Paris.
In that form it was a single seater and the cockpit area was quite different. Being black put ne off a bit though. Have a look at that, it might be a bit longer?
Looks good though.
Do you have a trailer long enough?
Have you read the article I did on building a cyclekart? It should put to rest any issues you may have with the steering.
Keep it simple and use 1/4 ply and light chassis rails. Its a big car but as a cyclekart it wont make that much difference.
