Competition time!
« on: 31 January 2019, 06:19:10 pm »
Well we now have an established name for our group, 'CycleKarts GB'.

For those of you who are not too busy in the workshop, now is a good time to establish a 'members badge' design.
This was previously mooted on Facebook and I suggest is best finalised by group contribution.
Can members (who wish to) please therefore post a suggested design by replying to this post.
Initial submissions can be hand sketches or Cad, it's not important at this stage, it's the motif we are voting on initially, the final detailing can follow on.

A deadline of midday Monday 11th February should give enough time.  One submission only per member please to simplify the process.
I suggest that this is followed by a poll to include all members, one mandatory vote each, with participants barred from voting for themselves. This can be followed up with a final poll on a shortlist.

I can foresee that there is some scope for tactical voting but trust that 'fair play' will prevail, we are after all, 'Gentlemen and Lady racers'.

What... oh the prize? .... A chance to mould history of course!

Some people have asked about the font on the forum banner.  Its "Coventry Garden" https://www.dafont.com/coventry-garden.font

I had the computer screen on yesterday and both wife and son said that the font looked like it said "CycleFarts" from where they were sitting! :)

Ha ha. We could turn that into an annual award?

I am extending the deadline for badge entries by 24 hours, just in case some folks are still sharpenning their crayons or de-fluffing their mouse. G

Finally got something done, I'm looking at it from the point of view of a design that could easily be translated into a stencil for enamel car badges.

So, Global Moderator, as a result of the dearth of entries, (very sad) and I see that you missed the original deadline :) when they are all up what is the voting process?
Ranked in order (leaving out our own),
1 vote or
Brexit (vote for something we know nothing about) Sorry Stefan that's very close to a political comment, but I couldn't help myself.

Well Rhys, I'm keeping this light hearted for those that are interested.
The voting guidelines are in the topic post.
I did not miss the original deadline of midday today.
I have extended the deadline until midday tomorrow for any others.
I'll ask Stefan to help set up a poll after, I hope all members will vote as proposed.

Well it looks like we have a total of 4 entries for a badge design including my own. Thank you to Rhys, Geoff and Chris.
As there are so few entries I think the simplest way to chose is to ask Stefan as administrator to set up a poll on the forum, which I suggest excludes us 4 entrants from voting.
Can you help out Stefan?
Thanks.

OK its poll time.  I've add a picture of the 4 concept images with a letter next to each one.  In the next post there will be a poll for you to choose one of the 4.  The poll results will be published in 5 days.

Scroll to the top of this thread to find the poll (no, I don't know why it puts it there either!)
