Shell History of Motor Racing

I’m sure a lot of you Historic Race Aficionados will be aware of this series, but I was not, I came across it on YouTube and am therefore passing it on to those interested. It’s a comprehensive history of motor sport from 1902 to the 1950s.
It’s extremely informative and historical. It was made in the 1960's and directed by Bill Mason father of Nick Mason the drummer in the group Pink Floyd. The documentary was originally available on VHS, then copied onto DVD, but now on YouTube.
It covers the very early days, with original footage of the pioneers at venues like the Grand Prix de l'ACF in Dieppe northern France, right the way through to Type 35 Bugattis racing at Monaco, Auto Unions and Mercs of Nazi Germany in action at the original Nürburgring and 250F Maseratis with all the famous drivers. Lots of good footage of Brooklands too.

Volume 1 - The Heroic Days (1902-1914)
Volume 2 - The Golden Age (1919-1929)
Volume 3 - The Titans I (1930-1934)
Volume 4 - The Titans II (1935-1939)
Volume 5 - Racing Reborn (1940-1948)
Volume 6 - The Champions (1949-1951)

Start at Volume 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggHsuo4kWG4

BTW some of the commentary and sound effects are hilarious.
