New category added!
« on: 16 May 2020, 09:15:13 pm »
Have a look at the "Getting Started" where i, independently, have added another category of cars so there are now, "True Cyclekarts", "Hobby Karts" and "Post War persuasion".
I had hoped to discuss this with others, various reasons that hasn't happened, but feedback is invited.

It reads well to me tbf, I'm never wanting to run competitively, instead a general sense of group enthusiasm is right up my street especially as I've had the interest in this branch of the automotive sphere for 25years whilst totally unaware there was a scene along a similar wavelength !

The whole philosophy behind cyclekarting originally, and until recently (especially in the US with some) was that it isn't a competitive activity. More the joy of creating something you can use with like minded people. There are a myriad of other motorised "things" where competition is at the heart.

I frequent a model engineering club here in Chesterfield which has the same exact philosophy of which although in their case they originally focused specifically on scale steam trains the group will is the same, to produce thought provoking functional and accessible art from the age of steam with some members recently producing intercity 125 electrics, freight diesel 020 yard shunters powered by thumping single cylinder diesels furthering the variety of rolling stock.
The public can visit and enjoy taking rides on the towed rolling carriage stock which has proved so popular that you get vast queues at the little stations so imo there is plenty of scope for the C.K. to enjoy a surge of interest amongst the general car enthusiast and public at large in it's original guise.
