Thanks for the Tyres Andy. Just the job.

Thanks in no small part to 'Jimmy de Fish', I think the Renault is reliable now, well as reliable as it's ever going to be. If you recall, the engine mount **** and nearly broke in two as we were whizzing around the Haynes track. I took it over to Jims place and he sprinkled some of his Magic Dust on the engine installation making it significantly stiffer and stronger. The first testing was driving it around the industrial estate for an hour or so, until the petrol ran out anyway. All seemed fine so off to the show the following we went.
As it proved out, she was fine and went like the clappers to with its GX Developments stage one engine. She accelerates well but top speed is a little dissapointing so I'm and going to fit a gold spring in the driven clutch and see what difference that makes. Gluing  another tooth on the pinion might work too?
Anyway, many, many thanks Jim. I think I can say she's finished now but we all know better than that dont we?
On with the Wee Beastie now for next year.

Her are some very poor piccies that give an insight into the appearance of the 'Wee Beasie'I have engine built now and the pedal arrangement (using the CMC cut pedal set from Gemini) so need to buy some steel and get cutting and hot metal gluing.
She is going to have a big image of Dangermouse on the scuttle and a few words from the Rabbi Burns, that weel know Jeweish mouse house wrecker.

"But Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men
Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
For promis’d joy!

That sort of sums up cycleKart building form!

If you have one wheel doing the braking, make sure you can lock it up, slow the Kart down and stop, an endless number of times. You need to be able to slow down often and for a long trime. heat is the enemy!
We have had our fair share of 'near do's' with inadequate brakes.

I'll have the pea soup followed by the Burger in pea sauce with extra peas and could we possibly have a quieter film, something like Gone with the Wind?
If they dont have any peas, I will have the same as Graham H please.

Hello Terrapin.
Are you going to be building a Cyclekart. Our little 'association' is growing steadily now and of course, the more there are the better for everyone.
Where abouts are you?
