Elvington Large Model Association Event, York 2026
We were lucky enough this year to include this fantastic event in our programme, and we were blessed with good weather and a large area to play on.
Camping was right on the side of the track and we all enjoyed the craic the evening presented. Due to the extreme (for Yorkshire!) dry conditions, smoking and barbeques we not allowed – but we did fine for food and drink 😊
The track was on the largest piece of concrete imaginable and our 100m x 50m fenced of area disappeared in its total vastness. We set up an oval circuit on the grippy surface and the twelve of us had a blast for the two days of the weekend with many laps completed and a lot of rubber left on the surface.
The show had entertainment, food, lots of model aircraft – some of them heavier than our cyclekarts- flying over the weekend and we even had a visit from a passing Spitfire overhead. The grounds had vendors selling tools, a small steam train with rides, fairground attractions and classic cars over the weekend.
A great weekend with great people. We spent as much time talking to the crowd as we did driving Thanks to all who supported this, we have been provisionally invited back for next year.
Enjoy the photo’s!
