CKGB 2026 SEASON - PROVISIONAL CALENDAR
2025 was a very successful season featuring a wide variety of venues, events and activities. The events ranged from those that were regionally organised to those that were nationally organised by various members of the committee. The 2026 season will see an increase in both regionally and nationally organised events.
2025 SEASON REVIEW
This was another great season, where we introduced new venues, events and activities. Our activities at the “Gold Cup” event held at Oulton Park were a big success, which has positively raised our club profile with other organisers and broadened our opportunities. Thanks to everyone that completed the members survey as this helps us review the previous season and plan the next season.
2026 SEASON PREVIEW
Previous seasons (especially 2025) required a great deal of input from the Events Coordinator. Consequently, a deputy events coordinator was added for 2025 plus a policy for organising regional events.
This policy was produced during 2025 and this continues to be developed. The South-West region is now firmly established with their own cyclekart track, whilst the South
East, North and Midlands regions are in the process of being formed. We will be back once again for the “Gold Cup” event at Oulton Park (this time for three days) and hope to also have a similar event at Donington Park in conjunction with another major historic motor-racing event.
The club is still pursuing an event at Prescott Hillclimb, but available dates are very limited for this venue. The two possible dates for 2026 unfortunately clash with other major CKGB events, plus the maximum number of entries for Prescott would be significantly limited.
LIMITATIONS ON NUMBER OF ENTRIES
Club membership rose significantly during 2024 and 2025, consequently there was concern that the number of entries for the 2025 events would need to be limited. Thankfully, whilst we reached a maximum for some of the events, we did not exceed it. Therefore, during 2025 we did not have to reject any entries, but this is likely to be an issue for 2026.
Membership continues to rise for 2026, so we are likely to exceed our expected maximum limit of entries for events. The maximum limit is dictated by parking space, paddock space, track size and facilities.
It is also limited by the amount of planning and on-the-day management that is required. Therefore, we will be seeking volunteers to assist with the running of each event.
Furthermore, for most of the events all entrants will be expected to assist with being marshals for one or two sessions during the day. Subsequently, with assistance from the membership we can hopefully increase the maximum number of entries.
PROVISIONAL CALENDAR OF EVENTS
The following events are still under discussion with the venues and event organisers. However, talks are now at an advanced stage and events should be confirmed in the near future.
These events are also dependant on members assisting with the organisation and running of them. Please keep a watching eye on the “Events” section of our Forum for up-to-date details on each event.
